R Conyers Nesbit aviation books always excellent or close to it. Detailed and well researched without being cluttered. Well-chosen photos, clear explanations, appropriate documentation and references. Certainly recommended. Anyone looking at air ops over the North Sea, or the Beaufighter and Torbeau squadrons of the 39-45 war, should consult it.
