Rates this book: 5 star

An official history.
Still has great merits and is better (and frankly more useful) than 3 out of 4 books on the subject, because:
1) Author used then classified UK and German records to give facts and statistics not then available.
2) Book spans coast defence, air raids, German invasion plans...
3) Clear, coloured, maps.
4) Lucid, uncluttered, prose.
Read this THEN read more sensational and subjective books about, e.g, Op Sea Lion or the Blitz.
