The notorious unit that started as local self-protection, developed into an effective counterpartisan large force and eventually had to be put down like a mad dog by the SS following militarily counterproductive atrocities in Warsaw. More topical info here than I've seen anyplace. The book is profuse with illustations and rare photographs. I've given it 5 stars for the niche it fills, I'm not saying it couldn't possibly be better.
