My father was in the 498th, Robert Rochat's aircraft, called The Rocket. As the author notes, the plane went down, although it appears to have done so on the June 5 bombing run, and not in May, as the author states. My source is the log of the submarine that plucked my father and three others out of the ocean, where they had parachuted to safety.
