Feedback from visitors

Feedback from Marie Evans father-in -law was W.R(Reyn) Evans 27MG BTN on Tuesday, 23 September 2003

Rates this book: 4 star

When we knew the company and platoon our father was in we found the book gave us a clear picture of the battalions movements.

The maps with the text gave us the ability to trace his movements from leaving Wellington until his was left on Crete.

We recommend anyone with family members in the 27 Machine Gun Battalion to read the book.If the machine gunner is still alive you can discuss placenames and events. This jogs their memory, you have some knowledge of what they are trying to tell you,and you both then get a clearer picture of events. It is difficult for the old chaps to remember names from 60 years ago.

There are personal accounts that enrich the reading. These put a human touch to the war.

A must read to help understand events throughout W.W.2
