A great detailed book on a little known force and their operations at high cost of life. Hollywood filmmakers are looking at this with great interest.

Top notch book about one Glider Pilot's experience from his entry into the USAAF glider program to his return back to the states. Very interesting and informative. John's style is one for telling you like it was. There is a good collection of photographs. Text includes maps of landing zones. If you want to learn more about glider operations, gliders, and glider pilots then this is a great book that will inform the reader on the USAAF glider program. Gliders played a vital role in USAAF history, butis seldom known about. It was an on going experiment in WWII warfare using a craft constructed of wood, fabric, and metal tubing which cost many lives and yet provided a means of warfare that won the war. Its all here and it will open you eyes to the men who were part of the glider program. The "G" on the glider pilot's wings meant "Guts".
