Rates this book: 5 star

One of a number of books to reaccess the performance of the Canadian ,British,American and Germany armies during the Normandy campaign. The debunking of the allied forces performance which was popular after WW2 and since have well and truly been refuted by Copps well researched book.Copps intelligent argued discourse really puts to shame authors such as Stacey,D?ste and Hastings etc who have had an axe to grind or just rei?teratd badly researched facts. If you want to learn how the so-called badly trained, badly led allied armies defeated the Germans with their superior weapons in well preprepared defensive postions read this book. It certainly was?nt the allied airforces that beat the Germans on the ground.PS My Dad relatives and veterans who fought in Ronson?s in Normandy are sick and tired of the pro-German army books often written by the defeated who tried to explain away there defeat by blaming everything on Hitler.Suggested read Sidneys Jary 18 Platoon which gives a true life view from the sharp end.
