Couldn't put the book down - great account from a panzer officer with excellent insight into the "common" German soldier of World War II. There are more and more personal memoirs appearing all the time and I believe this is one of the best accounts available from the perspective of a panzer soldier, especially one who served with a Tiger tank unit. A good portion of the story covers his time period prior to arriving with a Tiger unit. The photos are great and I've seen few, if any of them, in other panzer books.
