An extraordinary coincidence. I came across your review of this book just as I was reading E.M.Nathanson's 'A Dirty Distant War'. Billed as the sequel to 'The Dirty Dozen' it really has nothing to do with it but is set in precisely the same part of the war as this book by Bartholomew-Feis. Nathanson's fiction was published in 1987 but appears to incorporate a great deal of what is now revealed as historical accuracy published nearly 20 years later. The parallels between the two books are uncanny right down to some considerable detail. I suspect there is more than meets the eye here - can anyone else unravel the mystery?
