Feedback from visitors

Feedback from Jim Jones on Friday, 20 March 2009

Rates this book: 1 star

This account appears to be either a complaint or appeal about the results of the war, the author provides sparse information about the battlefield and the siege of Breslau, while the majority of the information centers on the unjust treatment and accusations against the Waffen SS that the author served with, the author attempts to justify the politics of Hitler and the humane killing conducted by the Waffen SS, while condemning the actions of the Russian Army.
A far better account by Guy Sajer, called the Forgotten Soldier, describes the devastation of war and the day to day of front line duty,
without the self serving motives of In the Fire.
