Rates this book: 4 star

Excellent chronology of the activities of the RAF Bomber Command throughout the war on day-by-day basis.
All sorties are clearly listed, along with the number and types of aircraft taking part. Targets and damage assessments are provided for the majority of the raids on the more important targets, along with casualties suffered on the ground.
The book is not a narrative, just a chronolgy but is avery valuable tool for the student and the historian. I would not recommend it to someone looking for a read on the RAF operations, only to those who seek data on operations.
The only reason I do not assign the volume a top rating is the lack of data on the results obtaine when bombing enemy ports. I would have liked to see the names of the ships damaged in these attacks, I am sure this data is available somewhere but the compiler probably had too much to work with already, and at 804 pages the book is quite large already.
