This book is a powerful personal account about so much more than battles. In it we get a glimpse of what it was like to be young and fighting for your life. We get to think the thoughts and feel the feelings of those on the front lines, not those making tactical decisions. This crew was invested in getting each member back safely each mission. They had fun and they had many close calls and I feel wiser because they shared them with me. With no hubris and no hype, these crewmen relive the day-to-day life of combat in the air. I highly recommend it.
