Rates this book:

Compelling account of terrible retreat from the Don combines well known and original first hand sources. Continues the odyssey of some as they enter the brutalizing Russian POW system. An interesting look at Germans waging war through their erstwhile ally's POV. All in all, uplifting. I'd give it 5 stars except some of the material is from The Sergeant in the Snow and Few Returned.
