Note from self-publisher

An evacuee in 1939 Doug Jennings lived in London and survived the Blitz. In 1940 he joined the
Home Guard and was trained to kill people with his bare hands, a skill he has not had to use yet!

On call up he joined the R.A.F. and after training in England and South Africa joined 57 Squadron
as a Bomb Aimer flying Lancasters. In June 1944 he was shot down in a raid on Wesseling an oil
refinery in the Ruhr. With help from the Belgian Resistance he avaded capture and returned to this
country in September 1944 from Paris.

He returned to operational flying with 9 Squadron dropping the 12000lb Tallboy Bomb on selected
targets.

He was demobbed in 1946 This book was written then whilst the events were fresh in his memory.
