T. Dennis Reece A rare look into American non-naval bomb disposal in the World War II era. Part I first describes the bomb disposal experiences of Capt. Thomas R. Reece, the author's father, from 1942 to 1944. It then examines how the Ninth Air Force and its thirty-three bomb disposal squads contributed to victory in the ETO. Part II examines Operation "Hidden Documents," a top-secret U.S. military intelligence mission which in February 1946 disarmed a booby-trapped cache of material buried by the SS near Stechovice, Czechoslovakia in April 1945. It also briefly chronicles the mission's co-leader, Capt. Stephen M. Richards, as bomb disposal squad commander in the Third Army. Reece, T. Dennis
